First Day of School

I enjoyed seeing kids back in the building today.  Students and parents seemed thrilled with the new look of the building.  I agree, it looks outstanding.  After visiting every class today, I was reminded that the bricks and mortar of a school play a very small part in what is important.  I enjoyed watching excited teachers help students get to know each other with a variety of fun and informative activities.  I observed serious students acting silly and silly students acting serious.  A great teacher gets students to step outside of their comfort area and take a risk or two.  Thanks to all of the OES staff for making the first day great.  Thanks to all our students for bringing energy back into the building.
